Former house committee chairman on sports, Hon. Godfery
Gaiya, has stated the importance of the present administration appointing a
technocrat and not a politician as minister of sports.
Speaking to journalists recently, the
former law maker noted that the sporting sector had always gotten it wrong as
those who had been appointed as sports ministers had no knowledge or even
passion for sports.

Hon. Gaya also noted that whoever would be appointed Minister of the FCT must be willing to aid the development of young talents in the nation's capital so as to deter crime and joblessness in the nation.
